Cenla Work Ready Network Prepares the Workforce of the Future

Central Louisiana is being proactive when it comes to maintaining it excellent, productive workforce. The Cenla Work Ready Network is a system designed to link education with workforce development efforts and align them with regional economic needs. This program is currently offered to all high school students in 9 Central Louisiana Parishes.


Key components include:
 

  • Career Ready 101 -  Career training course that prepares students for certification with WorkKeys assessments.

  • WorkKeys - Job skills assessment system leading to the National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC).

  • National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) - Portable, evidence-based credential that measures essential workplace skills and is a reliable predictor of workplace success.

  • Assistance to high schools for development of industry-based certifications.


At the end of the 2012 School year:

  • 5,862 students were active the program

  • 2,409 students earned the National Career Readiness Certificate

    • 10 Platinum Certificates

    • 356 Gold Certificates

    • 1,450 Silver Certificates

    • 593 Bronze Certificates   


The NCRC is an industry-recognized, portable, evidence-based credential that certifies essential skills needed for workplace success.
